Ireland's Ronan Sweeney topped the list of the 39 survivors from Day 1A in the Irish Poker Masters KO �1M GTD Main Event on partypoker. The first starting flight saw a total of 259 entries which contributed �259,000 to the seven-figure prize pool.

Sweeney will be looking to go the distance to add to his $1,387,530 online earnings, which was boosted by a further $41,894 thanks to his fifth-place finish in WCOOP-01-H: $109 NLHE. The Irishman also boasts $130,032 in live tournament earnings with a career-high score coming in the 2017 partypoker LIVE Grand Prix Killarney Main Event. Sweeney secured the �38,393 ($45,777) payday after being thwarted by Thomas Gallagher in heads-up play.

Notables joining Sweeney in Day 2 include partypoker ambassador Patrick Leonard, Rui Ferreira and online crusher Jans Arends.

Daniel Dvoress and partypoker ambassadors Matthew Staples and Louise Butler were among the big names who failed to advance to the second day of Main Event action.

Day 1B kicks off on November 14, 7:05 p.m. GMT. The remaining players from that flight will join the 39 other players from Day 1A for Day 2 on November 22, 8:05 p.m. GMT. Only nine players will make the final day of action which will resume on November 23, 7:05 p.m. GMT where the event will play down to its conclusion.
