Table Of Contents
The Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas will host the annual Moose Poker Tournament Series from January 7-12, featuring 15 low-stakes tournaments.
Each event, and there will be three on each day, comes with a guaranteed prize pool ranging from $3,000 to $25,000. The biggest event, a $200 no-limit hold'em tournament, takes place January 11 starting at 11 a.m. PT. All tournaments will be hosted in the Grand Ballroom at Golden Nugget, the giant room used during the casino's summer poker series, The Grand.
The purpose for the series isn't just to play some poker. Moose International is a charitable organization all across the United States that makes a difference in the lives of children, seniors, and communities.
Each year, the nationwide organization, with membership lodges all over the country, sees their "Moose" members travel to Las Vegas to compete in an annual poker event, always held at Golden Nugget.
"The Golden Nugget has always been the home to Moose International Texas hold em series," Will Harrison, coordinator for the Moose organization, told PokerNews. "We just feel that it is a good fit for us. They help us out so much with making this tournament a success every year with the things they do for us and our members. They work really hard to help our members out with the needs that come up."
Harrison also said his members enjoy the easy street access of the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. There are a number of restaurants and casinos all within a short walk, a plus for the players.
It's All About the Texas Hold'em
Moose's poker tournament series first started in 2010, and the organization has grown ever since. This year's event features buy-ins as low as $100 and as high as $200. The name of the game is no-limit Texas hold'em, so you won't find any pot-limit Omaha or mixed games here.

History of the Moose Lodge
In 1888, Dr. Henry Wilson founded the first Moose lodge in Louisville, Kentucky, as a way for men to gather socially and to celebrate life. The organization has grown significantly over the years and Moose now has over 1 million male and female members.
Each local lodge has a number of activities for members and their families, such as holiday parties, dinner, sports outing, and of course poker in Las Vegas. The Moose is all about celebrating life together, giving back to the community, and helping those in need.
