Salas Secures Second Ever SCOOP Title; Pads Bankroll With $103K

There has been plenty of action in the 2022 PokerStars Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) since we last provided you with an update. Big names have helped themselves to bankroll-boosting prizes, including Argentina's Damian "pampa27" Salas.
Salas has more than $12.7 million in online poker tournament winnings, and bolstered his tally by taking down the SCOOP 89-H: $1,050 NLHE 8-Max PKO event for a cool $103,754. Salas came out on top of a 712-strong field and banked the largest slice of the $750,000 prize pool.
Talented Swede Andreas "mrAndreeew" Berggren was the first of the nine finalists heading for the showers. Berggren came unstuck in ninth place and walked away with $13,808. Berggren's prize was ever-so-slightly larger than the $13,487 "tytko" collected when they busted in eighth place.
"PataNegraXD" of Estonia and "Yepakyy" of the United Kingdom joined the ever-growing list of busted players. They saw prizes worth $14,590 and $16,789 wing their way to their PokerStars accounts.
Then came the exit of Ramiro "ramastar88" Petrone, a relative veteran of the online poker world. His elimination would have, no doubt, brought a sigh of relief from the remaining players.
Heads-up was set when a pair of Brazilians ran out of steam. First, "ThiagoMTs" crashed out in fourth place for $36,938, then "BLEFE GOD" was discarded in third, a finish good for $44,605.
Salas battled with Michael "munchenHB" Telker for what was now a massive final bounty payment. Telker, a regular in PokerStars' biggest buy-in events, could not find a way past Salas and ultimately had to make do with an $80,516 consolation prize. Salas reeled in SCOOP title number two and $103,754 in cold, hard cash.

Kulev Bags Second $200K+ Score in Two Months
A day after Ole Schemion completed his remarkable hattrick, Alex "FutureofMe" Kulev went and triumphed in the $5,200 High Roller version of the Thursday Thrill. Kulev left 167 opponents in his wake, resulting in $222,790 of the $840,000 prize pool being his. Five weeks ago, Kulev won a $2,100 buy-in event at GGPoker for $285,414, making it two $200,000+ scores in as many month. We bet Kulev cannot wait for June to arrive!
As you would expect from a $5,200 buy-in tournament, the final table was as stacked as they come. "$eT4x4" and Dennys "dennysramos2" Ramos fell first before Jans "Graftekkel" Arends saw his tournament end abruptly in seventh.
Canada's "buckblack" and Estonian superstar Juanki "B4NKR0LL3R" Vecino we left without chips, although the latter got his hands on $43,159, which should go some way to numbing the pain of defeat.
Andras "probirs" Nemeth and Costa Rica-based Brit Elliott "elliottpet" Peterman were eliminated, leaving Kulev in a one-on-one fight with Pedro "pvigar" Garagnani. Nobody would have blamed either player has they requested to look at a potential deal because there was more than $100,000 difference between the payouts. There was no deal, which meant a $105,290 score for Garagnani when he fell at the final hurdle, and a huge $222,790 and the title of champion for the hot-running Kulev.
