Weekend Preview: $4.75M Gtd Across Three Stellar Events
Table Of Contents
The weekend is here, and many of you get 48 hours from the daily work grind and plan to spend it playing some poker and, hopefully, padding your bankroll with some substantial scores. The online poker world is jam-packed with stellar tournaments right now, thanks to several online poker sites hosting prestigious festivals and series. You could do much worse with your spare time by qualifying and playing in the following trio of tournaments.
The $400 Colossus at GGPoker
Event #28 of the 2022 WSOP Online at GGPoker is a must-play tournament; it is the $400 Colossus. Featuring no less than 20 flights between September 10-19, the Colossus promises to award not a single cent less than a cool $3 million to those GGPoker players lucky and skilful enough to navigate their way into the money place.
Each Day 1 player starts their Colossus journey with 40,000 chips and is allowed to make one re-entry per flight. Late registration ends at the end of the 16th level, with each level spanning 12 minutes. Have even a solitary chip in your stack when the 20th level concludes and you progress to Day 2 at 7:00 p.m. BST on September 19.
Satellites from only $20 are in the GGPoker lobby right now, opening the door for a charge on the Colossus to a wider audience.
Last year, Malta's Armando Davanzo outlasted more than 2,000 entrants to capture his first WSOP bracelet and an impressive $409,007. That could be you in 2022.

The WCOOP Edition of the Sunday Million at PokerStars
Dozens of major tournaments have come and gone over the year, but one has withstood the test of time and still has a ridiculously strong lure for players: the PokerStars Sunday Million. This weekend's Sunday Million, which shuffles up and deals at 5:30 p.m. BST on September 11, is given the World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) treatment, meaning extended blinds and a cool $1.25 million guarantee for a $109 buy-in.
WCOOP-34-L: $109 Sunday Million is a three-day PKO event where everyone sits down behind a stack of 25,000 chips, and plays to a 15-minute clock where the blinds start at 70/140/15a. You win at least $25 for each opponent you send to the rail, and players are permitted to re-enter three times.
The curtain comes down on Day 1 after almost eight hours of play. Those who navigate their way to Day 2 need to be ready to grind at 5:30 p.m. on September 12; Day 2 concludes when only nine players remain. The nine-handed final table shuffles up and deals from 5:30 p.m. on September 13, likely under the watchful eye of the PokerStars Twitch channel.
$109 is at the more affordable end of the buy-in scale for a major online poker event, but it is still out of reach for large sections of the poker community. This is why PokerStars is running dozens of satellites.
Two satellites, both taking place on September 11, stand out from the crowd. At 4:15 p.m. BST, there is an $11 buy-in satellite boasting 140x $109 seats guaranteed. Thirty minutes later, a $5.50 buy-in affair kicks off with at least 30 seats in its prize pool. Good luck.

The MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event at PartyPoker
It may be a little premature to talk about potential overlays with five of the six flights remaining in the PartyPoker MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event, but a substantial overlay looks on the cards based on the Day 1A attendance. PartyPoker slapped an impressive $500,000 guaranteed prize pool on the $320 buy-in MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event, meaning 1,667 entrants are required to breakeven.
Day 1A, which took place last Sunday, saw only 245 players register (37 progressed to Day 2). If similar numbers turn out for the subsequent flights, the MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event will overlay by around $130,000, and that is great news for you as a player.
Day 1B of the MILLIONS Online Main Event commences at 7:05 p.m. BST on September 11 and continues until only 15% of the field has chips in front of them. Those top 15% pause until 8:05 p.m. BST on September 26.
Each of the remaining Day 1s are played using players' real names, permits only a single re-entry, and see late registration close shut after only 12 levels of play. These features level the playing field for PartyPoker players, and the site should be commended and supported for its commitment to keeping online poker fun and fair for everyone, regardless of the size of their bankrolls.
$320 may be a little steep for you, but there are satellites from $0.01 running around the clock. There are also $30 buy-in SPINS, PartyPoker's take on jackpot sit & go tournament, which pays out $60 cash or MILLIONS Online tickets ranging from $109 to $3,200, the latter being the buy-in for the $2 million guaranteed Main Event.
