Gavin Cochrane

British poker pro Gavin "gavz101" Cochrane is best known for his Pot-Limit Omaha prowess, but Cochrane is no slouch at No-Limit Hold'em either. Over the weekend, Cochrane swapped his usual four hole cards for two, and did so with superb results.

Eight-one players bought into the $5,200 Titans Event, the biggest buy-in weekly tournament at PokerStars. Those 81 entrants created a $405,000 prize pool, of which a cool $82,607 is now nestled in Cochrane's account. The top 11 finishers secured a min-cash of $10,221, with Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski being the unfortunate soul who popped the all-important money bubble.

Each of the nine finalists were guaranteed no less than $12,761 for their efforts, and it was Canada's "uwintakeit" that collected this sum. "xMAESTROx" and "MiJatoEsLima" also busted, banking sums of $15,933 and $20,617, respectively.

Sixth place and $26,6778 went to Bruno "great dant" Volkmann before Volkmann's fellow Brazilian Rodrigo "seijistar" Seiji Sirichuk joined the list of eliminated players, doing so with $34,521 to show for his efforts.

Ukrainian superstar Andrey "Anjeyyy" Novak crashed and burned in fourth for $44,669, prompting the final trio of grinders to strike a deal to lessen the pay jumps. As a result of the deal, Mikita "fish2013" Badziakouski netted $71,644 for his third-place finish, while Niklas "Lena900" Astedt scooped a $75,124 when he lost the heads-up battle with Cochrane. The British champion walked away with $82,607 and the title of Titans Event champion.

The $530 buy-in high edition of the Omaha Week Main Event drew in a 198-strong crowd, and it was the Finnish PLO expert Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen that claimed the tournament's top prize.

The Main Event played on six-handed table, but the final table was seven-max. Niklas "Lena900" Astedt bowed out in seventh, Astedt's fellow Swede "ShipitFTW911" joined the list of busted players. Then came the untimely demises of "terror777727," "boomer101214," and "Fruble," which left Jouhkimainen heads-up against "abrilnob" of Argentina.

Jouhkimainen got the job done and his hands on the $19,663 top prize, resigning his Argentinian opponent to the $14,512 consolation prize.
