The Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series kicked off on May 30 and is scheduled to run through July 3. The festival features 89 events offering over $3 million in guaranteed prize money, which includes the highly anticipated $1,100 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed PokerNews Cup Mystery Bounty event from June 29-July 3.
The Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series will feature poker variants including Pot-Limit Omaha, Omaha Mix, Mixed Triple Draw Lowball, Limit 2-7 Lowball, Seven Card Stud Hi/Low, H.O.R.S.E., and 8-Game Mix. Through the first nine events of the series, a combined 606 entrants have competed and $101,795 in prize money has been awarded with much more to come.
The Bar Poker Open festivities will return to the Golden Nugget with the invite-only Bar Poker Open Championship and the $1,000 buy-in Bar Poker Open Pro-Am June 15-16 featuring a streamed final table.
In addition to the PokerNews Cup, another Mystery Bounty format tournament will run earlier in the series from June 16-June 19 with a $300 buy-in, nine starting flights, and a $250,000 guarantee.

Chad Campbell Wins Series Opener
Event #1: $300 Omaha 8/B kicked off the summer series for the Downtown Las Vegas poker venue and attracted 96 players to generate a $23,040 prize pool paid to the top 12 finishers.
Chad Campbell claimed the top prize of $5,020 and the title of the opening event of the series. Campbell��s biggest live score was a runner-up finish to Chance Kornuth in the 2021 WSOP $10,000 NLH Short Deck event, which will have a $1,500 version of that variant for the first time this year.
Others to cash the tournament were John Ruggieri (3rd - $4,500), William Brock II (5th - $1,537), and Chris Harner (8th �C $765), who also finished eighth place in Event #5 the following day.

Bryce Fox Victorious in Big O
Event #3: $200 Big O attracted 75 players to the felt for some action poker and the $11,250 prize pool paid the top ten finishers.
Pennsylvania native Bryce Fox took down the five-card tournament for $3,300, and that victory gave him his 10th career live win according to The Hendon Mob.
Others to make it in the money include Paul Sincere (4th - $1,064), John Hunter (7th - $467), and Stephen Johnson (9th - $344).

James Van Alstyne Takes Down Dealer��s Choice
Event #9: $300 Dealer's Choice gave 38 runners the opportunity to take their pick from a wide variety of games and had a $9,120 prize pool which paid the top five places.
James Van Alstyne was the victor, and it marked the second consecutive year the bracelet winner took down a mixed event early in the Grand Poker Series, as he won Event #5: $250 H.O.R.S.E last year.
Said El Harrak finished second for $2,282 and he crossed the $1 million mark in live earnings with his runner-up finish. Asher Lower (3rd - $1,521), Haresh Thaker (4th - $1,079), and Peter Kelly (5th - $816) also cashed in the event.
