PartyPoker Sunday Party

Entering the latter stages of an online poker tournament does not guarantee a player victory, but it does give them an advantage. The PartyPoker player going by the name "HuppaDup" put their chip lead advantage to full use by coming out on top of the latest $100,000 guaranteed Sunday Party.

A field of 939 entrants left PartyPoker nursing a $6,100 overlay on the $100,000 guarantee, not those who reached the top 159 finishing places minded because it meant a little extra free value for them.

Team PartyPoker duo Jaime Staples, and his brother Matt Staples entered this week's Sunday Party. Jaime crashed out midway through the first day's play, but Matt finished in 149th for a $200.80 score.

Day 1 concluded with only 16 players in the hunt for the top prize and the title of champion. "HuppaDup" led those 16 hopefuls back into battle with 10,417,672 chips, the only eight-figure stack, although "vladich123" was hot on their heels with a 9,985,527 stack.

Day 2 kicked off at 8:05 p.m. on November 27, and it didnt start well for "mardaturan." They returned to the virtual felt third in chips, yet were the third player eliminated. However, most of the players who started Day 2 with a top ten stack navigated their way to the final table.

With bounties included, all but one of the nine finalists captured at least four figures for their efforts. "GREENVOG99" busted in ninth before "nonbeliever" bowed out in eighth for $903. It was a valiant effort from "nonbeliever," who reached the final table having only sent a single opponent en route. To reach the final table with only one scalp in your pocket is some achievement.

Five of the last seven players helped themselves to more than their fair share of bounty payments, with that quintet scooping over $1,000 each from the bounty prize pool.

"vladich123" was not one of those aggressive five, although they did pad their bankroll with $1,378 in total after falling in seventh. "New folder" captured $3,143 for their sixth-place finish, over $600 more than "Wickedinzero" who banked $2,540. "New folder" eliminated nine foes before their elimination, and the $1,697 bounty haul was second only to the eventual champion.

"lennarttrolle" saw their tournament end in a fourth-place finish worth $4,234. The Sunday Party progressed to the heads-up stage when "RESPECTDaBet01" busted in third, a finish good for $5,308.

Both of the heads-up players locked in almost $6,400 from the main prize pool, leaving the now massive bounties left to play for. After much back and forth, "dynmitkaj" fell in second and walked away with $7,740 reasons to be happy with their performance. "HuppaDup" was the last player standing, thus becoming the Sunday Party champion, and receiving a cool $11,458.
