High-stakes poker player and GGPoker ambassador Jason Koon announced on Wednesday that he had parted ways with GGPoker as fellow high-stakes ambassador Fedor Holz announced a new role with the popular online poker site.

"GGPoker and I have gone our separate ways," Koon wrote on X on Wednesday morning. "I wish them continued success."

Koon, who sits third on the all-time money list and is widely regarded as one of the most respected players in the community, joined GGPoker in 2021 as an Integrity Ambassador. The 38-year-old spearheaded a Poker Integrity Council (PIC) put together by GGPoker in July 2022 to combat cheating.

Koon did not give a reason for why he and GGPoker had gone separate ways.

Hours before Koon announced he was leaving the site, Holz, another PIC member, announced that he was stepping into the Integrity Ambassador role, noting that "ensuring fair play and security will be my top priority."

Integrity Ambassador Switch-Up

The switch-up in Integrity Ambassadors comes a little over a month after a superusing scandal that led to GGPoker banning a player with the screen name "Moneytaker69" and confiscating $30,000 in unfair winnings. In light of that and other cheating scandals, many in the poker community called on site ambassadors to speak up about cheating in online poker.

Holz, who has been a GGPoker ambassador since 2020, wrote on X that he is "in direct contact with the security team and will involve myself more in the processes and directly contribute to enhance the security of the games on GG."

"I understand that the current environment comes with a lot of challenges in that regard with advancing technology, but I believe its of utmost importance to continuously improve security on online poker sites," the German high-stakes pro wrote.

After the recent superusing scandal, GGPoker, which has a history of combating online cheats dating back to 2020, stated that "the security and integrity of our games is our priority" and that "we have, and will, always do everything within our power to prevent cheating in any form."
