PokerNews Deepstack Championship

PokerNews and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) have a relationship that goes back almost twenty years.

And that relationship strengthened this year with the PokerNews Deepstack Championship. Getting your name on an official bracelet event is not something that happens every year. In fact, in the history of the WSOP it's only happened a handful of times. And this time, it was our turn and what a success Day 1 has turned out to be!

Registration has now closed in the inaugural PokerNews Deepstack Championship with an unconfirmed field of 5,110 smashing last year's figure of 4,303 by almost a thousand players.

"We're delighted that the PokerNews Deepstack Championship finally got underway after all these months of preparing," said PokerNews Director Mark Powell-Bevan. "I've seen first-hand the effort, investment and determination that went in to making the event happen, as well as all the work that went into the PokerNews Daily Deepstacks leading up to it."

"To actually see it taking place is hugely rewarding for all involved, and we can't thank the players and the WSOP enough."

"It's testament to the entire PokerNews team that this event has been such a booming success."

Big Names and Qualifiers Join the Fray

The bumper field featured all manner of poker players. Daily Deepstack champions mingled with WSOP bracelet winners and even former WSOP Main Event champions.

Players such as Duy Ho and Silma Macalou also joined the field as qualifiers who won their way via the PokerNews Daily Deepstack leaderboard.

Payouts are as yet unconfirmed, but one thing for certain is that the winner will also walk away with a one-of-a-kind 24-karat gold PokerNews Deepstack Championship winner's coin.

Once again a huge THANK YOU to everyone who entered the inaugural PokerNews Deepstack Championship!
