The PokerNews Deepstack Challenge, the precursor to the $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship, is a new addition to World Series of Poker that looks to shine a light on low-stakes grinders and home game heroes.

Running until June 24, this weekly leaderboard promotion rewards players participating in the daily $200, $250, or $400 Deepstack tournaments at the WSOP. Every week, the top 10 point earners will win complimentary seats to the $600 PokerNews Deepstack Championship bracelet event.

There's also some cool memorabilia for our Deepstack final tablists and winners. Make it to the final table, and you'll receive a special edition card protector. Deepstack winners will get a unique card protector, marking them as champions. Plus, trophies will be awarded to each of the weekly leaderboard winners.

Several of the winner card protectors have already been handed out, with Cory "CJ" Biddle (pictured) being one of the first beneficiaries. He triumphed in the third Daily Deepstack of the series and has been grinding them out since, with the aim of nabbing one of the tickets.

The third Daily Deepstack of the opening day of the series wrapped up just before 3 a.m. on May 29, with professional poker player Cory "CJ" Biddle emerging as the victor for a $4,697.

"It's a good thing what PokerNews is doing with these Deepstacks. I'm proud to be a part of it."

This wasn't the first time the 43-year-old had tasted success at Horseshoe and Paris, as the North Carolina resident took down a $400 Daily Deepstack a year ago for $23,917.

More impressively, he banked his first piece of WSOP hardware after he reigned supreme over the $2,200 High Roller at WSOPC Cherokee last August. His maiden ring win netted him a career-best score of $93,116, which was sweetened by the fact that he qualified for the High Roller from a $300 satellite.

"Cherokee's like my home casino from Charlotte, North Carolina, so I have been there a lot." Biddle reminisced about the win. "There's really a lot of good players in North Carolina. it was a tough field. one of my close friends, Ryan Jones, was there. It was a very tough final table. it was a good experience."

PokerNews caught up with Biddle ahead of the $250 Daily Deepstack that took place on June 1, and he explained why the events are great for poker players of all kinds.

"They're a good bankroll builder. it's good value. Especially the 1 p.m. $250 buy-in. Usually, first place is anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000. Sometimes, it can get up to $30,000 or $40,000.

"I plan on being at the top of the leaderboard."

"If I bust out a bracelet event, these are always going on. So it's just good value to keep your bankroll going for the summer."

Despite one win already in the bank, Biddle isn't resting on his laurels and confirmed he's paying a lot of attention to the PokerNews Deepstack Challenge. One for the ticket but also because there's bragging rights on the line.

"I plan on being at the top of the leaderboard. My boy Alex McKinney (who won the $250 on May 29) is a little bit higher up than me [on the leaderboard]. He's from Charlotte, too, so, it's just it's just good competition.

"It's a good thing what PokerNews is doing with these Deepstacks. I'm proud to be a part of it."
