Niklas Astedt's Poker Background

Niklas Astedt

You might know him by Niklas Astedt, but if you don't, you've probably heard of "Lena900", his online username. He currently sits atop the PokerStake all-time online leaderboard with over $48 million in online earnings.

He's won nine PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles and seven World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) titles and is considered by many to be the greatest online poker player to have ever lived.

"It's a piece of cake!" said Astedt, when asked to compare live tournaments to those on the online felt. "People say this is a marathon; they should try 20 tables for 40 days during SCOOP!

"I'm just happy to book a win in Vegas one summer! I'm always going for more money, but I want the first. Poker has given me a lot, so I'm just happy to be here."

And the Swede is no slouch at the live felt, but a major live title has eluded him his last live tournament victory came in 2017, winning the 10,300 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller at the PokerStars Championship Prague for 81,600 ($96,003).

PokerNews even featured Astedt earlier this summer in our 'Best Without a Bracelet' article.

And he's come close. He played a heavy schedule three years ago, with a final table in Event #64: $5,000 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em; Pot-Limit Omaha for $70,367, and has come close on two occasions to winning a maiden bracelet.

He was denied heads-up in 2020 in a GGPoker.com $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event, and last year finished sixth in the WSOPE 25,000 NLH GGMillion$ for 106,600. Can this online superstar win his first bracelet in the biggest event of all?

Niklas Astedt's Main Event Story

Astedt hasn't had it all his own way during the Main Event, and was among the shortest stacks at the end of Day 4. However, he spun it up on Day 5 to sit in the top ten chip stacks, running his stack of 385,000 up to almost eight million.
