PokerStars 2024 Ontario COOP Schedule Released With $2 Million Guaranteed
Table Of Contents
There is cause for excitement for Canadian online poker players as PokerStars has just released the schedule for the 2024 Championship Of Online Poker (COOP) in Ontario, which comes with a total of $2 million (CAD) in guarantees and runs from September 13th through September 30th.
While the player pool continues to be contained to the Ontario region, separate from the COOP series running in the United States, for the second consecutive year the three individual series will run simultaneously so that, at the very least, there is a sense of a singular COOP season akin to the ever popular World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) or Spring Series Of Online Poker (SCOOP), available on the global PokerStars client.
Prizes and Promotions
The guaranteed $2,000,000 (CAD) in total tournament prizepools is an increase from the 2023 Ontario COOP, in which $1,500,000 (US) was allocated to the series.
In addition to the regular tournament prizes up for grabs, PokerStars will be running a promotion awarding North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Gold Passes valued at $10,000 to the top two finishers in the COOP Main Event. The NAPT Gold Pass comes with a $5,300 buy-in to the 2024 NAPT Main Event in Las Vegas this November as well as cash to cover expenses and complimentary luxury hotel accommodation.
As if that were not enough added value, those Canadian grinders already taking part in the "Path to NAPT" on PokerStars can use their silver or gold passes (different to the gold pass mentioned above) to buy in to $100 and $1,000 events during the series.
In order to play the COOP in the Canada, you will need to sign up for an account with Pokerstars CA. In addition, you will need to be located within the Ontario province in order to play or risk forfeiting any money or tournament tickets won.

Series Highlights
The 2024 Ontario COOP gets underway on September 13th with COOP 01: $100 NLHE [Turbo, Warm Up]. The guarantee for the first event sits at a healthy $12,000. The series concludes on September 30th with COOP 93: $50 NLHE [Turbo, Mystery Sendoff], which comes with a $20,000 guarantee.
The highlight of the series is, of course, the Main Event, which will take place on September 29th. The $300 buy-in tournament boasts a hefty $200,000 guarantee and for those for whom the entry fee is too onerous can take advantage of a plethora of satellites running throughout the series to parlay as little as $1 into potentially life altering sums of money.
Outside of the Main Event, high rollers can look forward to the largest buy-in tournament on the schedule, COOP 87: $2,500 NLHE [High Roller Main Event Championship]. That event is also guaranteed a six-figure prizepool.
Those who may be more inclined to non Hold'em variants will find plenty of action in both Pot Limit Omaha events, such as COOP 31: $250 PLO [Omaha Championship] or mixed events like COOP 89: $200 8-Game [8-Game Championship]. Whatever your poker tastes in terms of game selection or stakes, the 2024 COOP is set to deliver!
Eligible iGames conducted and managed by iGO are only available to those physically present in the Province of Ontario. PokerStars Ontario operates pursuant to an agreement with iGaming Ontario.
