Earning Tournament Points to climb up the leaderboard is a function of both volume and success. Even if you don't cash in a tournament, you earn a Tournament Point for each $1 of the buy-in. In other words, you would earn 20 Tournament Points for finishing outside the money in a $20 tournament.
The amount of points you can earn is much bigger if you cash in a tournament, especially if you go deep or even win it, using the formula below.
Buy-in amount * (total entrants / players place of finish)
Here's an example of how the formula works. If you finish in fifth place in a $20 tournament with 200 players, you would earn 20 * (200/5) or 800 Tournament Points.
The September $100K MTT Race was won by the Costa Rica grinder known as WheresTheCola, who bagged T$10,000 after amassing 372,566 points during the month. Remarkably, this player took second place on the leaderboard in August when he padded his bankroll with the runner-up prize of T$7,500.
Mexicos big_dumb_idiot narrowly missed out on a big victory, accumulating 330,981 points during September to bank T$7,500.
Greece's kokaki9 was the 100th-place finisher with 38,636 points, bagging a tidy bounty of T$500.
