PokerStars is supporting the Right To Play charity and you can too with some limited edition products hitting the PokerStars store.

Right to Play Origin

Right To Play aims to protect, educate, and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play. The story goes that Norwegian speed skater Johann Olav Koss led a humanitarian trip to the newly formed African country of Eritrea a couple of months before the 1994 Lillehammer winter Olympics. Koss saw children playing among burning rubble in the war-torn country and he met the countys President.

Koss apologized for brining sports equipment with him instead of food and supplies. The President of Eritrea said the sports equipment was the greatest gift his people could have received because now they were being treated like human beings, not just something that was being kept alive. Koss saw a young boy turn a long-sleeve shirt into a football so he and his friends could play football, prompting Koss to found Right To Play.

Right to Play Hoodie

Right To Play Ambassadors, former Olympians Chemmy Alcott and Sarah Lindsay have been pushing the message of Right To Play on social media while sporting a limited edition Right To Play hoodie, produced together with The Stars Group, that pays homage to the little boy who created the football from a shirt.

These hoodies are available in black and red in sizes small, medium and large. You can help support this fantastic cause by purchasing a Right To Play hoodie online at the Stars Store for 4,000 StarsCoins ($40.) The first 100 people to purchase one using the bonus code RTPBALL also receive a free PokerStars water bottle worth $13.

One-hundred percent of the purchase prices goes to the Right To Play charity, helping to raise vital funds for their efforts.

If you do not wish to purchase a hoodie but still want to help Right To Play, you can make a $20 donation via the Stars Store for 2,000 StarsCoins.

Right To Play Charity Tournament During WCOOP

You can also enter a $55 buy-in Right To Play Charity tournament on Sunday, Sep. 8 where 100 percent of the tournament fees go to the charity.

Were excited to work with PokerStars for WCOOP and extremely grateful to them for donating the rake for the charity event, said Neil Child-Dyer, Senior Partnerships Manager, Right To Play.

Since our partnership with The Stars Group began in 2014, poker players have shown their generosity by taking part in Right To Play tournaments to raise funds to educate, empower, and protect the most vulnerable children in the world through the power of play. Good luck to everyone taking part on Sunday September 8.

Help PokerStars support this amazing charity and help less privileged children lead a better life.
