6:16Bernard welcomes Richard Roeper to the show, the 4th Annual Academy Awards preview show.
6:58Richard joins the show and still doesnt know how to play pocket jacks.
9:16Richard discusses the controversial decision to not have a host for the 91st Academy Awards, the first time since 1989. Back then, there just werent as many gigs available and no social media to reach the public, so for someone like Bob Hope and Billy Crystal, it was a huge thing. Not to mention there were 30 million people watching.
13:16Richard analyzes the Supporting Actress category which includes nominees Amy Adams (for Vice), Marina de Tavira (Roma), Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk), Emma Stone (The Favourite) and Rachel Weisz (The Favourite). Its a category where we have some pretty big upsetsnot that they didnt deserve it, but they werent expected. Richard also states about Regina King, A classic working actress, always doing something and always doing it well.
15:29Bernard and Richard discuss the snubs in the Supporting Actress category including Claire Foy (First Man) and Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place).
19:05Richard analyzes the Supporting Actor category which includes nominees Mahershala Ali (Green Book), Adam Driver (BlacKkKlansman), Sam Elliott (A Star is Born), Richard Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Sam Rockwell (Vice). (Grant) is one of those actors who is so gracious and so grateful for the nomination.
22:06Richard analyzes the Lead Actress category which includes nominees Yalitza Aparicio (Roma), Glenn Close (The Wife), Olivia Coleman (The Favourite), Lady Gaga (A Star is Born), and Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?). This is one where you can make a case for any of the five I wouldnt be shocked if any name is called.
25:18Bernard and Richard discuss Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga singing their nominated song, Shallow live at the Academy Awards.
28:09Richard analyzes the Lead Actor category which includes nominees Christian Bale (Vice), Bradley Cooper (A Star is Born), Willem Dafoe (At Eternitys Gate), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), and Viggo Mortensen (Green Book). (Bale) disappeared completely into the role, it was like last year when Gary Oldman won for playing Winston Churchill.
31:29Bernard and Richard discuss the snubs in the Lead Actress and Actor categories including Nicole Kidman (Destroyer), Margot Robbie (Mary Queen of Scots), Viola Davis (Widows), Timothe Hal Chalamet (Beautiful Boy), Ethan Hawke (First Reformed). I thought (Ethan Hawke) was going to win, not just get nominated. Richard also discusses the movie and cast of Widows, It was the best cast of the year. I thought Viola David should have been nominated for Best Actress That to me was a film that should have gotten eight Oscar nominations, it got none.

32:11Bernard continues his interview with renown film critic and avid poker player Richard Roeper.
36:39Richard analyzes the Best Director category which include nominees Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman), Pawel Pawlikowski (Cold War), Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite), Alfonso Cuaron (Roma) and Adam McKay (Vice). (Although) Alfonso Cuaron is the heavy favorite for Roma, but Im going to go ahead and say Spike Lee and predict the upset, partially because Im rooting for himI think it would be really cool. Im going with my gut, not my head. Richard also discussed Bradley Coopers Best Director snub. I dont know why he (Bradley Cooper) wasnt nominated for Best Director.
43:08Richard analyzes the Best Film category which includes nominees Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Favourite, Green Book, Roma, A Star Is Born and Vice. Im going to go way out on a limb. Im pretty much the only one predicting this. Im going to say that Black Panther is going to win for Best Picture When you got eight candidates, theres a bigger chance for an upset I think it would be a great moment for the Oscars. People would go crazy.
45:01Bernard and Richard analyze that most Best Picture winners and front runners are released late in the year. All of this years nominations are late except Blank Panther. Fall and the winter is the season for the more serious films, and the summer is the season for the blockbusters
47:71Bernard and Richard discuss the snubs in the Best Picture category including Mary Queen of Scots, Beautiful Boy, and Crazy Rich Asians.
51:00Bernard discuss Richards involvement and love of poker including charity poker tournaments such as for the One Step Closer Foundation.
