Alen Bakovic is a Canadian poker player hailing from Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Bakovic is best known for his victory in Event #30: $600 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Mixed at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.
After his bracelet win, Bakovic told PokerNews that he had played poker since 2006. His first recorded live tournament cash came in May 2008, and it was another four years until another entry was added to his Hendon Mob profile. Bakovic cashed in three Las Vegas-based tournaments in June 2013, including the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em event at the WSOP. Another three-year gap appears on his resume, before Bakovic recorded cashes in Montreal, Spain, and France.
Since late 2021, Bakovic has hit the tables with renewed vigor and racked up more than three dozen in-the-money finishes around the world. He cashed in events taking place in the Caribbean, Malta, the United States, South Korea, Vietnam, and Ireland.
Bakovic had cashed in three live and two online bracelet-awarding events at the 2024 WSOP before he captured his first bracelet. The Canadian came out on top of a 3,351-strong field in the $600 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha Mixed event for $207,064 and his first piece of WSOP hardware.
