James Obst is an Australian poker player and tennis player with over $3.9 million in live tournament earnings.
Obst won his maiden bracelet in the 2017 $10,000 Razz Championship as he defeated Eric Kurtzman to win $265,138. Olbst had almost won a bracelet the previous year when he finished runner-up in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship for $261,354.
Also in 2016, Obst secured his largest career cash with a 13th-place finish in the WSOP Main Event, earning $427,930.
Obst left poker in 2017 to pursue a career in professional tennis. However, Obst returned to the WSOP in 2023 and quickly found success with a fourth-place finish in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship for $411,824.
At the 2024 WSOP, Obst became a two-time WSOP bracelet winner after triumphing in the $10,000 Razz Championship.
