Jason Sagle is a Canadian poker player who reached the final table of the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in Las Vegas, where he finished fourth for $3 million.
Sagle's first recorded live tournament cash came in 1997 in a low-stakes event in Mashantucket. He didn't cash again until April 2003, but has regularly finished in the money since then.
At the 2004 WSOP, Sagle finished 23rd in the Main Event for $120,000. Two years later, he almost won a bracelet but had to make do with a fifth-place finish in a $2,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em event, a result that earned the Canadian $64,428.
Sagle's first six-figure prize came in October 2006, when he finished second in the C$10,300 WPT North American Poker Championships for C$676,107 ($600,455). That massive haul remained his career-best until his 2024 WSOP Main Event appearance.
Sagle reached the 2024 WSOP Main Event with 67,300,000 chips, enough for fifth place.
"I feel great, I'm happy to be here," he told PokerNews. "I'm still getting a feel for a couple of [the other players] and that's what my game is, more feel. It's not that internet math thing and all that. I just kind of gave up poker for a while, and now I'm back since last year.
"I've had some success, and hopefully, I can continue — one more day!"
Sagle's impressive run ultimately ended in a fourth-place finish worth $3 million. His final hand occurred during the 1,500,000/3,000,000 level and saw him three-bet all-in with pocket jacks after Niklas Astedt had min-raised to 6,000,000. Astedt called with ace-three of clubs, which improved to a wheel on the river.
