Mizzi was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 16, 1986. He joined the army at the age of 16 and spent two years in sreserve training in Meaford, Ontario. After the army, Mizzi took an interest in online poker and supported the hobby with a job as a telemarketer. He left his job to focus on poker after winning $80,000 in a week.
Off the felt, Mizzi beat Poker Hall of Famer Brian Rast with a third-round knockout during a boxing match in 2015.

Full Tilt Poker Scandal
Mizzi took over for his friend, Chris Vaughn, from another location during a tournament in December 2007. Mizzi won the tournament and was disqualified. He admitted wrongdoing and apologized.
2016 PokerStars Ban
Mizzi was banned from PokerStars for a second time after he played from the United States on another players account during the 2015 WCOOP. It was the second time Mizzi was banned on PokerStars after a three-month suspension for multi-accounting in 2008.
