Stuart Rutter is a professional poker player hailing from Birmingham, United Kingdom. Rutter has over $1.7 million in live poker cashes dating back to 2005.
Like many poker tournament grinders, Rutter began his career playing low-to-mid-stakes tournaments. He enjoyed plenty of success during his career's infancy, but a £35,900 ($53,859) score for finishing fifth in the £3,150 GUKPT London Grand Final gave Rutter a significant bankroll boost in 2008.
In 2010, Rutter bagged €58,995 ($85,048), a then career-high, for a third-place finish in a Helsinki-based event, before winning the GUKPT Coventry Main Event five months later for £41,910 ($60,893).
Fast forward to 2014, and Rutter captured the first six-figure prize of his career when he finished 54th in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event. Many $10,000+ prizes made their way to Rutter over the years before he came agonizingly close to becoming a WSOP champion in 2018. Rutter finished second in the $10,000 Dealer's Choice for $181,258; this remains Rutter's biggest single haul.
In September 2023, Rutter won the GUKPT Luton Main Event for £62,368 ($76,716), and became a two-time GUKPT champion.
