Thomas Santerne is a French professional poker player best known for becoming the champion of the 50,000 Super High Roller at the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris festival.
Santerne burst onto the live poker tournament scene in 2023, cashing in two events in Morocco and the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure before the first month of the year ended.
In February 2023, Santerne cashed in the 2,100 EPT Mystery Bounty and the 10,300 EPT Paris High Roller. Santerne's hot streak continued in March, with his first live victory; he took down the 1,500 Winamax Poker Tour La Grande Finale for a career-best 56,000.
Santerne went dark for the best part of six months, recording no live scores. However, a trio of cashes in Cyprus in October saw him pick up where he left off.
The Frenchman headed to the inaugural World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise in The Bahamas in December 2023, and what an excellent decision that turned out to be. Although he was one of the first players to bust in the money place of the $5,300 WSOP Paradise Main Event, Santerne finished sixth in the $1,650 Mystery Millions for $101,000, and was the runner-up in the $10,400 High Roller 6-Handed for $254,417.
Having finished in the money in the record-breaking 1,100 FPS Main Event at the 2024 EPT Paris festival in February, Santerne entered the 50,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super High Roller. Here, he defeated Chris Brewer heads-up to clinch the title, 889,480 in prize money, and deny Brewer what would have been back-to-back 50K victories.
