At this point, with just three days remaining in the 2024 WSOP and the Main Event final table set, it is safe to say that the top two spots are settled, and the only real race now is for the last two money spots for third and fourth place.
Day 48 of the 2024 WSOP, the $10,000 Main Event will see 18 players from a record 10,112-player field return for Day 8 action and to play down to the final table of nine. Just one player from the $25K Fantasy League, and that is four-time bracelet winner Kristen Foxen, who is looking to make history by becoming just the second woman to make the final table of the WSOP Main Event (Barbara Enright did it back in 1995).
Foxen is primed to get some big points for Team NGNF, but it likely wont make a difference as they currently sit in 13th place with 494 points, far out of the 758-point mark that currently delineates making the money.
Event #91: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. is down to the final two players from a 357-entry field and one of them is John Racener, who will get even more points for the league-leading Team The Dinkers.
Day 3 of Event #89: $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship will see 147 players from a 3,972-entry field return to action and that six $25K Fantasy players including Patrick Leonard (Team Lucky), Jim Collopy (Team Girl Dads), Alex Livingston (Team Lang), Taylor Paur (Team Noori), Dong Chen (Team Lady Gaga), and John Riordan (Team Girl Dads).
Event #92: $50,000 High Roller is down to the final five from a 178-entry field including Jesse Lonis (Team Girl Dads), Nacho Barbero (Team Negreanu), and Justin Saliba (Team Livingston).
In Event #94: $10,000 6-Handed NLH Championship, Day 1 attracted 418 runners and 151 players found a bag. Event #88: $10,000 Eight Game Mixed Championship needs an extra day to finish, and just two players remaining including Team Sepiols Calvin Anderson, who holds a chip lead over Japans 3,905,000. Anderson is primed to win some big points for his team either way, but only time will tell if he can close it out and capture his fifth gold bracelet.

In the 846th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, Chad Holloway and Kyna England are joined at Level 9 Studio by PokerNews Pennsylvania Ambassador Keith Becker, who served as special co-host to talk about the latest happenings at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
That included a controversial hand from Day 3 that some viewed as an angle and/or scummy, as well as the wild seven-bet bubble hand on Day 4. What two hands could inspire two big stacks to get 120 big blinds all in preflop on the money bubble? Find out here. The trio also take a look at the WSOP Main Event payouts and how they compare to past years, which former Main Event champs lasted the longest, and how both Mo Nuwwarah and Josh Reichard took pre-tournament misfortune and used it as motivation to make a deep run into Day 5.
Chad also shares why he was inspired to turn extra links from his WSOP gold bracelet into a pair of gold earrings, while Keith talks about his life in the Keystone State, which includes a successful Twitch stream. As a matter of fact, he even streamed from the recently completed Global Poker x PokerNews Cup, which crowned a pair of Freeroll Finale Champions.
Finally, hear about recent WSOP gold bracelet winners including Garth Yettick, Carsten Heidemann, Matthew Alsante, and Chance Kornuth, who took down Event #85: $1,000 Flip & Go for his fourth gold bracelet. Hear from Kornuth himself in our winner's interview. Oh, and don't forget your regular $25K Fantasy update.

The 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) is nearing its conclusion, but there is still plenty of poker action before the doors close on the Las Vegas series. That includes crowning a winner in the $10,000 Main Event, which attracted a record field of 10,112 players. However, just 160 players will return for Fridays Day 6, and of those six are draftees in the popular $25K Fantasy Draft.
Each of these players is guaranteed a modest three fantasy points, but if they can outlast 52 players and make the top 108 they will trigger the massive 100-point field bonus, which could have big implications in the current standings.
The Main Event money bubble burst back on Day 4, and since then 27 players from the $25K Fantasy league have hit the rail, each earning three points in the process. They include Day 5 casualties in Adrian Mateos (Team Lucky), Ryan Hoenig (Team Chingas), Josh Reichard (Team Oz), Jesse Lonis (Team Girl Dads), Alex Livingston (Team Lang), Nacho Barbero (Team Negreanu), David Bakes Baker (Team Lang), Bin Weng (Team Chingas), Phil Ivey (Team Sepiol), Anson Tsang (Team Lady Gaga), Maria Ho (Team Noori), and Adam Friedman (Team Sepiol).

In Event #88: $10,000 Eight Game Mixed Championship, 22 players from a 189-player field return for Day 3 action including eight $25K Fantasy players in Adam Friedman (Team Sepiol), Maxx Coleman (Team AJs Eagles), Yuri Dzivielevski (Team Lady Gaga), Maksim Pisarenko (Team Baker), Calvin Anderson (Team Sepiol), Chris Brewer (Team The Dinkers), Andres Korn (Team DPMC), and Cary Katz (Team Sternheimer).
