2024 WSOP Day 6 $25K Fantasy Sweats -- $5K PLO 8-Handed Likely to Shake Things Up!
Saturday was a big day at the 2024 WSOP, at least for the $25K Fantasy as Artur Martirosian finished in fourth place in the $25K Heads-Up Championship, good for a league-leading 75 points. That saw Team Lang jump up to 79 points, currently the top score.
Additionally, Poker Hall of Famer John Hennigan became the first $25K Draftee to claim a bracelet at the 2024 WSOP. He took down Event #7: $1,500 Dealer’s Choice for $138,296 and his seventh gold bracelet. In the process got 55 points for Team AJ’s Eagles, which put them in second place with 67 points.
So, what’s in store for Day 6 of the 2024 WSOP? Just 11 players remain in Event #8: $5,000 PLO 8-Handed, and four of them are $25K Fantasy players. Bryce Yockey (Team The Dinkers) is chip leading, while Joao Simao (Team Sternheimer), Brian Rast (Team The Dinkers), and Joao Vieira (Team Noori) are all still in contention. Team The Dinkers currently sits in fourth place with 58 points, so with two players deep in this event, they’re prime to make a big jump and potentially take the league lead.
Just six players remain in Event #9: $1,500 Limit Hold’em (8-Handed), and the only $25K player remaining is Nick Guagenti (Team Baker), who is the chip leader. Only time will tell if Guagenti can win the $121,074 first-place prize and his second gold bracelet.
There are still over 100 players returning for Day 2 of Event #10: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship with $25K Fantasy player Scott Seiver (Team AJ’s Eagles) chip leading. Matt Glantz (Team Lucky) is hot on his heels, while other league players remaining include Chino Rheem (Team Negreanu), Josh Arieh (Team TheCoffeeBreakers), Tyler Brown (Team Livingston), Erik Seidel (Team Lucky), and Patrick Leonard (Team Lucky), among others.
