Hizer Gets Lucky

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Orpen Kisacikoglu became the next early casualty on Day 2 and Paul Hizer was all but on his way to the rail, too. He was at risk for 95,500 with {5-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Geoffrey Mooney had him dominated with {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The board came {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Hizer rivered a straight.

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jack Sinclair
Jack Sinclair

Jack Sinclair doubled Dominik Nitsche after he failed to get there with {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} against the {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} of the 888poker ambassador. The board came {7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Sinclair was left short, busted soon after to Florence Allera.

The Last to Enter

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Parker Talbot lasted three and a half minutes on his re-entry before running out of chips while Matt Perrins, Philip Ward and Conor Beresford had just taken their seat after jumping in at the very last minute.

In total, a field of 74 entries has emerged with now 44 players remaining, and that also includes 15 re-entries.

Quads for Kyriacou

Level 10 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Chris Moorman jammed his short stack from the button with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and was called by Michael Mizrachi in the small blind with {A-}{6-}. The board came {Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Moorman doubled.

One table over, ian Hunter check-called a bet by Christopher Kyriacou on the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Hearts} river and Kyriacou showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for quads, Hunter mucked the {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a flush.

Who Will Take Down the 2018 888poker LIVE Festival London £2,200 High Roller?

Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

The most-expensive event of the 2018 888poker LIVE Festival London at the Aspers Casino in the Westfield Stratford City has already smashed the guaranteed prize pool of £50,000 and more than doubled that thanks to 61 entries on Day 1 of the £2,200 High Roller. There were 51 unique players and 10 re-entries, and that field is certain to grow further as the registration remains open until the start of Day 2 at 5 p.m. local time.

One player that will certainly take a shot at the High Roller title in London is 888poker ambassador Dominik Nitsche, who is expected to arrive before Day 2 kicks off and confirmed that on Twitter. Nitsche, along with all other new entries, will start the final day with 20 big blinds as the action recommences with blinds of 2,500/5,000 and a big blind ante of 5,000.

Six Brits are at the top of the counts heading into Day 2, led by Yiqian Song (433,500), Ajay Kejriwal (407,500) and Gerald Ringe (396,500). Further big stacks and notables still in contention include Vadim Cojocaru (334,500), Chris Da-Silva (274,000), , Matas Cimbolas (226,000), 2018 WSOP Europe Main Event champion Jack Sinclair (157,500), Michael Mizrachi 148,000), Thomas Muehloecker (114,500), and Orpen Kisacikoglu (89,000).

Team 888poker will be represented by Martin Jacobson (203,000) and Chris Moorman (31,000).

The tournament is scheduled to play down to a champion tonight and the first of five Main Event starting days kicks off at 6 p.m. local time. All levels last 30 minutes each and will increase to 40 minutes once the final table has been reached. The PokerNews live reporting team will focus on the High Roller action and provide the Main Event 1a chip counts once all players have bagged and tagged for the night.
