A player from the cutoff opened and was called by Evgeny Sirotenko on the button before a player in the small blind three-bet to 10,700, receiving a call from both opponents.
All three players checked the flop and turn leading to a final board of Q?9?3?5?8?. Action checked around to Sirotenko who bet 10,000. The small blind called while the player in the cutoff got out of the way.
Sirotenko tabled 8?8? for a rivered set of eights and his opponent's hand hit the muck.
Antonio Aguera opened to 3,800 from the cutoff and Viktor Moskalenko defended from the big blind.
The flop came A?5?4? and Moskalenko check-called a 5,000 continuation bet from Aguera.
Both players checked the 6? turn leading to the 10? river. Moskalenko checked and Aguera bet 9,200, sending Moskalenko into the tank.
After a couple minutes Moskalenko opted to fold and asked his opponent to show. Aguera obliged, showing Q?J? for a rivered flush before scooping the pot.
With two players seeing a final board of 7?9?3?6?A? and about 60,000 already in the middle, a player in the big blind had moved all in for 53,300 sending Matias Arroyo deep into the tank.
Several minutes went by while Arroyo, clearly on a difficult decision, weighed his options before finally putting in the call.
Arroyo's opponent could only show Q?10? for a bluff. Arroyo tabled 10?10? for just a pair of tens to send his opponent to the rail and drag in a colossal pot.
In the 829th episode of the PokerNews Podcast, which is sponsored by PokerStars, Chad Holloway, Mike Holtz, and Kyna England are back at Level 9 Studio in Las Vegas to talk about Doug Polk being denied a new poker room in Texas. Check out some highlights and clips from a city council meeting in which Polk went to the podium to plead his case. While some respected what he had to say, some poker players like Chris "Big Huni" Hunichen and Matt Waxman were critical of his motives.
Speaking of Polk, he indicated he might be available to participate in Hustler Casino Live's (HCL) $1,000,000 Cash Game at the end of the month after Ethan "Rampage" Yau dropped out. The latter, who has been on a downswing and recently admitted to shedding tears over a $550K loss, caught some flack for pulling out after asking fans to buy pieces and was the subject of a negative video released by Alex Duvall. Find out what the crew thinks about Rampage's current predicament, including a World Series of Poker (WSOP) challenge issued by Holtz.
Also, learn about Sofie Dossi contorting herself at the Celebrity Poker Tour Invitational III, which was won by Katie Thurston for $20,000, as well as hearing from PokerNews Ambassadors Keith Becker (Pennsylvania) and Kyle Anderson (Ontario). Finally, the crew remembers two-time bracelet winner & music icon Steve Albini, who unexpectedly passed away earlier this week.
