After more than thirtheen hours of play, Event #7 - $160 XL Inferno Opening Event finally crowned a winner. It was "Xandee1991" from Brazil who claimed the victory and the first prize of $53,014.50 after beating "kevlar1991" in the deciding heads-up.
The event, with a buy-in of $160, saw 1,447 players register and those players made 632 rebuys to get a total amount of 2,079 players. They created a total prize pool of $311,850 with 162 places paid. It took a while to get to the money but in the end, it was "DrMiKee" who was the last player finishing empty-handed.
After making the money it took a long time before the tournament was down to the last nine. After eleven hours the remaining nine players made the final table and went on to play for a $53,014.50 first prize. For "janwest030" (ninth - $3,367.98), "mario73m" (eight - $6,081.07) and "wiissspppaa" (seventh - $9,199.57) it wasn't a big success on the final table, because they left quiet early.
Not much later, Phil "PRoyal888“ Mighall finished in sixth place for $12,318.07 after losing all his chips with king-nine. He was followed to the rail by "lasochobi" (fifth - $15,436.57) and "bluecheek" (fourth - $21,205.80) who both won some nice money. From that moment on, it was Brazilian "Xandee1991" dominating the tournament.
He took a commanding chip lead against his two opponents and won almost every pot he played. In the end, it was "kevlar1991" who busted "MommyTosier" to get heads-up with the Brazilian.
