$162 Mystery Bounty
Day 3 Completed
After a brief final table of eight that lasted just over an hour, Denmark's "thechronic99" was the last player standing in Event #19: $162 Mystery Bounty at the 888 Poker KO Games, defeating "ingeruRO14" in heads-up play to secure the victory and a total payday of $20,091.
Coming into the third and final day, Canadian "UGOTPOONCHED" led the field but ultimately fell in fourth place, whereas "thechronic99" started third in chips and managed to navigate their way to the top. "Zindane", flying the flag for Cyprus, finished on the podium in third place, good for $8,886, including bounties, while the aforementioned "ingeruRO14" of Romania took second and $13,262.
Place | Player | Country | Prize (Including bounties) | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | "thechronic99" | Denmark | $20,091 | |
2 | "ingeruRO14" | Romania | $13,262 | |
3 | "Zindane" | Cyprus | $8,886 | |
4 | "UGOTPOONCHED" | Canada | $7,575 | |
5 | "latvianhero1" | Latvia | $5,136 | |
6 | "guitiradent1" | Brazil | $5,025 | |
7 | "Inspiro" | United Kingdom | $8,999 | |
8 | "Suic1deKin9" | Costa Rica | $2,979 |
Half of the $200,000 prize pool generated by the 1,328 entries was devoted to mystery bounties, with that element of the tournament coming into play on Day 2. The top $20,000 bounty, which exceeded the regular prize pool first-place payout, ended up in the hands of "zxcdsaqwe" early in the day to dampen some of the excitement. Nevertheless, there was still big money up for grabs in bounties, as demonstrated by seventh place finisher "Inspiro", who collected the majority of their total $8,999 payout in bounties.
Not long after some of the biggest bounties were taken off the board, the money bubble was burst by the unfortunate "YguTj" as they were essentially blinded out in 145th place to secure the remaining players $250. Play then continued at a rapid pace until just eight players remained.
"Suic1deKin9" had the shortest stack coming into the final table so it was no surprise that they were the first to go in a wild three-way all in encounter. Next out was "Inspiro" after "UGOTPOONCHED" rivered a king to bring the tournament down to six players.
Not long after, "guitiradent1" was felted by a flopped cooler before "latvianhero1" followed them out the door in 5th place after "Zindane" flopped a set against them.
Start of the day chip leader "UGOTPOONCHED" had by this point become the short stack, with their tournament ultimately coming to an end in 4th place. A dominated ace was all that was needed to condemn "Zindane" to a 3rd place finish to set up a heads-up match between "ingeruRO14" and "thechronic99", the latter of whom entered that stage of the tournament with a significant chip advantage.
Only a few hands later, all the chips got in the middle, with "ingeruRO14" needing to pair up their king-jack to survive. Unable to do so, "thechronic99" was the last player left standing to take down Event #19: $162 Mystery Bounty and leave "ingeruRO14" with a $13,262 consolation prize.
That wraps up coverage of this event, but be sure to keep following PokerNews as its live reporting team continues to provide comprehensive coverage of global poker events.
Level 43: 90,000/180,000
"thechronic99" opened to 576,000 on the button and then called with the covering stack after "ingeruRO14" moved all in for their last 3,598,706.
"ingeruRO14": K?J?
"thechronic99": A?6?
"ingeruRO14" was marginally behind but was left drawing thin after the flop came Q?A?9?. The 8? turn meant "thechronic99" would only need to fade a ten heading to the river to secure the win and was able to do just that after the 5? completed the board to condemn "ingeruRO14" to a runner-up finish.

One day after being accused of cheating a California home game out of millions, Tony Mars issued a statement to PokerNews denying the allegations.
Wesley Fei and Nikhil "Nik Airball" Arcot, both Hustler Casino Live regulars, claim that Mars, who also plays on HCL, brought a special UV-marked deck that allowed him to decipher face-down cards.
The alleged scandal occurred in a game at a private residence in Yorba Linda, California, a community in Orange County.

Level 38: 40,000/80,000
"Zindane" opened to 180,005 from under the gun and received calls from "Inspiro" in middle position as well as "Suic1deKin9" in the cutoff. "latvianhero1" then three-bet to 400,000 on the button, leaving themself just 25,161 behind. "thechronic99" cold four-bet jammed for 2,279,329 out of the small blind, forcing folds from "Zindane" and "Inspiro". "Suic1deKin9" called off for their remaining 2,114,288, as did "latvianhero1" to setup a three-way all in.
"latvianhero1": A?Q?
"Suic1deKin9": J?J?
"thechronic99": K?K?
"thechronic99" had the covering stack and was in good position to score the double knockout. That all changed on the 9?J?10? flop, which gave "Suic1deKin9" top set while improving "latvianhero1" to an open ended straight draw to go along with the nut flush draw. The A? turn changed little but the Q? river handed "latvianhero1" the main pot with the flush while giving "thechronic99" the sidepot with broadway to send "Suic1deKin9" out in 8th place.
