"scheeescheee" Leads Final Table in Event #39: $215 Mystery Bounty Main Event

After just four hours of play on Day 2 of Event #39: $215 Mystery Bounty Main Event at the 2024 PokerNews Online Championship hosted by 888Poker, 264 players were narrowed down to the final table of eight. The player best positioned heading into the final day of play is "scheeescheee" of Mexico with 3,051,520, good for 51 big blinds. They are closely followed by Romania's "RazvyB" on 2,872,759 with "bucurestean" rounding out the top three with 2,665,882.

Each of the remaining players has locked up a minimum of $3,175 to go along with any bounties they have collected, though all eyes will be on the $25,626 top prize. Earlier on Day 2, the largest single prize of the tournament, the $30,000 top bounty, was collected by Brazilian "Dangerzinn", who was eventually eliminated in 16th place to bring their total payout from the tournament to an impressive $31,192.

Once late registration closed at the start of Day 2, the total prizepool was confirmed at $325,400, surpassing the $300,000 guarantee. Of that sum, $175,400 was set aside for the regular prizepool to be split amongst the top 180 finishers, with each receiving a minimum of $351. With 264 players entering the day, the bubble loomed large from the start. Unsurprisingly, it did not take long for it to burst after "mogyo_10" was forced all in from the big blind and came up short against their opponent's flopped full house.

The final table will resume March 5 at 2 p.m. ET at which point play will continue until a winner is crowned. Blinds resume in Level 38 at 30,000/60,000 and will increase every 12-minutes.

The at risk player was behind but had two live cards. The 3?10?Q? flop pushed "bimbimbaroo" into the lead with the 7? turn changing nothing. The 2? river, however, improved "scheeescheee" to the nut flush and giving them the knockout.

Level 26: 3,000/6,000

"pokanuktus" limped from middle position as did "jessecesar" in the cutoff. "3AHYDA" then raised to 30,000 on the button, only to see "pokanuktus" move all in with the covering stack. "jessecesar" quickly folded while "3AHYDA" called off for their remaining chips.

With a successful inaugural PokerNews Online Championship hosted by 888Poker nearly in the books, the stage has been set for the blue ribbon tournament, Event #39: $215 Mystery Bounty Main Event. Numerous Day 1 flights have been running over the past few days with a total of 1,616 entries at the time of writing. Of those, 225 have managed to book their seat in Day 2, with that number set to rise as the last few flights conclude before play gets underway in a little over an hour.

Currently leading the pack is "jessecesar" of Brazil, who managed to spin their starting stack of 10,000 up to an impressive 220,451. Not too far behind sits PokerNews ambassador and twitch streamer Lukas "RobinPoker." Robinson on 190,445 while Brazilian "zedonato" rounds out the top three with 185,414. Robinson is not the only prominent player to have bagged big as fellow British streamer and 888Poker ambassador Nick "eastyyy22" Eastwood enters the day with 122,818.

The mystery bounty portion of the tournament comes into play on Day 2, which should be of significance to the remaining players given the $30,000 top bounty. That number currently eclipses the top prize of $25,626 set to head the way of the winner of the regular half of the tournament.
