Amir Doroudian Leads the Day 1a Field in the Ante Up Wild Horse Pass Main Event
The opening flight of the Ante Up Poker Tour Wild Horse Pass $400 Main Event is complete! A total of 221 entries made their way to the Wild Horse Pass Casino in Chandler, Arizona, to play the first of two Day 1 flights.
Those 221 entries were trimmed down to 36 Thursday, and those surviving players will come back Saturday for Day 2, joining the survivors of Friday's Day 1b flight and playing until a tournament champion is crowned.
At the end of the night it was Amir Doroudian (355,000), Tiffany Heniz (323,000), Alvaro Vasquez (313,000) and Adam Veselinovic (265,000) bagging big.
The action was fast paced right from the start on Day 1a and never slowed down, as the chips flew back and forth throughout the 30-minute levels. Play ended with 24:51 remaining in Level 16 (3000/6000/6000), as the original field had played down to 15 percent of the original number of entries.
The Day 2 flight will commence at 10 a.m. Friday, with the same structure players saw in Day 1a. The field will play through 30-minute levels, and play until 15 percent of the field remains.
The $100,000 guarantee is well on its way toward being smashed, and the eventual champion of the Main Event will no doubt be looking at a sizable payday.
