The pinnacle of the Ante Up Poker Tour Jamul Casino $550 Main Event plays out today, as the tournament’s final day kicks off today at noon. Day 2 action begins with the 34 players who survived flights Day 1a and Day 1b coming back and playing down to a winner.

The first place prize of $27,180 is on the line as the Main Event plays to its conclusion. The Day 2 restart will begin at Level 15, with the blinds at 3000/6000/6000.

The field will play through 30-minute levels through Level 18, and the tournament will shift to 40-minute levels from there. Once heads-up play is reached, the event will go back to the 30-minute level structure.

The $550 Main Event is the centerpiece of the AUPT Sweetwater Series, the first ever Southern California series for the AUPT, and the first tournament series ever held at Jamul Casino. Opened earlier in 2019, the Jamul Casino Poker Room is located near San Diego, California.

Scott Lewis (355,000) comes into the final day as the overall chip leader after bagging big on Day 1a. He’s closely followed in the chip counts by Adrian Lopez (315,000) and Tim Costello (315,000), the co-leaders from the Day 1b flight. Lopez and Costello are seated next to each other in the Day 2 redraw, which could lead to fireworks between two of the biggest stacks in the room.

Other players in the hunt include Tavish Margers (301,000), Vladimir Medvinsky (269,000), Richard Fufaro (229,000) and Michael Zucchet (204,000).

All of the other 27 players in the field come into Day 2 with less than 40 big blinds, and if the first two days of the Main Event are any indication, Sunday should be an action-packed affair.

The Main Event drew 171 total entries, many of them from the San Diego area as the AUPT and Jamul Casino begin a new era of poker tournament action in the region. The champion from that field of 171 will be crowned today.

Stay tuned to the PokerNews blog as the AUPT Jamul Casino $550 Main Event plays to the finish today.
