O'Rourke Cruising On Up

When we came to Liam O'Rourke's table there was a board showing {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} with around 100,000 already in the pot and Nicholas Heather was set to act in front of O'Rourke. A bet of 66,000 was sent O'Rourke's way and he quickly made a call.

River: {j-Hearts}

On the river, Heather opted to check and O'Rourke slowly counted out a bet of 139,000. Heather then went deep into the tank, furiously studying O'Rourke. Eventually he opted to fold and sent the big pot to O'Rourke, who now has the chip lead with well over 1,000,000 in chips.

Lindeblad Picks Up Chips

The action was opened by Steve Lindeblad in the cutoff seat to 22,000. NIcholas Heather made the call on the button and so did Kristina Griffiths in the big blind.

On the {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, Griffiths checked and Lindeblad bet out 55,000. Heather made the call and Griffiths got out of the way as the {5-Diamonds} turn was dealt.

Both players checked on the turn and the {j-Spades} completed the board on the river. This time Lindeblad would bet 45,000 and Heather would make the call. Lindeblad tabled his {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, enough to send Heather's cards into the muck.

Peco Out

Peco Stojanovski has had a roller coaster ride out of this tournament. The first big hand that occurred saw Stojanovski all in on the river of a board showing {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Spades}. In that hand Stojanovski sent his cards into the muck when Erich Stadler turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

When the above hand was over, Stojanovski thought he had no chips left and proceeded to leave the tournament area. It turned out he still had 2,500 left though and so he sat back down. The next hand he was all in holding {k-Clubs}[qc} against Jim Collopy's {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}. A {q-Diamonds} hit on the turn and he survived. But not for long.

Just a couple of hands later Stojanovski again got his stack all in against Collopy. This time Stojanovski held {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Collopy held {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and it was home in 23rd place for Stojanovski.

Heather Knocks One Down

Another player has been lost in this early stage of Day 3. This time it was John Parker. Readers may recall that Parker was left short stacked just a few minutes ago. His last hand saw him all in holding {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} against Nicholas Heather's {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and it was all over for Parker, while Heather now has around 1,000,000 in chips.

Anunu Takes Hit

Mishel Anunu opened the action from early position and Craig Blight made the call in the small blind. The {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop was dealt and Blight opted to check. Anunu bet 26,000 and Blight threw in the check-raise to 60,500. Anunu then popped it to 125,000 and Blight then jammed all in.

At this point Anunu gave a bit of a death stare for some time before deciding to let his hand go.
