Day 1b Justice for Daniel Laidlaw
Exactly 22 players have just bagged up some varying sized chip stacks and made their way into the icy cold night of this beautiful little New Zealand mountain town. Leading the way with 85,900 chips and enough to call himself the ANZPT Queenstown Day 1b chip leader is Daniel Laidlaw.
It all began with just one less player than yesterday’s action as there were 39 entrants on Day 1b. As mentioned, only 22 of those survived, meaning plenty hit the rail throughout the day. Some of those we are referring to include Michael Guzzardi, Ken Demlakian, Pravin Harji and the reigning ANZ Player of the Year Mishel Anunu.
While the above failed to progress to Friday’s Day 2, players such as Daniel Neilson, Casey Kastle, Michael Fadersen and Dean Schneider were able to survive and a few of them even thrived. For a short while the chip lead was simply a two-player race between Daniel Levy and Laidlaw, but eventually Laidlaw edged away and held quite a handy lead over both Levy and Luke Brabin. Be sure to check out all the end-of-day chip counts below this post here in the live reporting blog.
That’s all for tonight from us here at PokerNews, but we will be back at it from 12.30 p.m. local time tomorrow, so make sure to join us then!
