Chevalier Runs Into Lots of Eights

2011 ANZ Player of the Year Danny Chevalier has recently fallen to 15,000 in chips.
We recently picked up the action with Chevalier and one opponent on the turn of a 
board. Chevalier was on the button and led out for 5,000 when his opponent checked. The player called and the dealer completed the board with a 
. This time the player led for 6,000. This made Chevalier sort of laugh. Then he shrugged and called.
The player turned over 
for turned quads! Chevalier's cards went into the muck.
