Jeppe Drivsholm Eliminated in 5th Place ($81,044)

Jeppe Drivsholm - 5th Place
Edward Sabat has eliminated another player. He made it 75,000 to go preflop. Jeppe Drivsholm moved all in behind him for about 200,000 total. All other players got out of the way as Sabat made the call.

Drivsholm: {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}
Sabat: {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}

Sabat's king-nine suited was in surprisingly good shape against Drivsholm's pocket fours. It got better for Sabat when the flop came {Q-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} to pair his nine. Sabat stood up from his chair and went to his group of supporters in the gallery to await the turn and river. Drivsholm needed a four to stay alive but didn't get it. The turn was the {K-Clubs} and the river was the {6-Spades}. He has been eliminated in fifth place and will walk away from this tournament with $81,044 in prize money.

Sabat Goes for a Home Run but Strikes Out

Diwei Huang had to sweat the flop and the river.
Diwei Huang had to sweat the flop and the river.
Diwei Huang put in what has become a standard opening raise to 65,000 from the button. Edward Sabat, next to act in the small blind, put in a large reraise to 324,000. That folded Jeppe Drivsholm in the big blind. Huang took his time acting before shoving his whole stack in, about 1,000,000 chips total. Sabat didn't snap-call, but he didn't think about it very long either. He made the call.

Huang: {k-Clubs} {k-Diamonds}
Sabat: {a-Clubs} {j-Spades}

Huang was in commanding position to retake the chip lead from Sabat. The flop came down {8-Spades} {k-Hearts} {4-Hearts}, bringing a roar of applause from Huang's supporters. Sabat wasn't totally dead; the {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave him a gutshot draw to Broadway. A river ten would give him the pot and knock out Huang. Huang went to hide in the crowd, not willing to watch the river card come down. He had no need for fear when the dealer burned and turned the {A-Hearts}.

Huang is once again the chip leader with about 2.1 million.

Chua Collects Another

The very next hand Diwei Huang raised to 60,000 before Charles Chua shoved all his chips into the middle. He hadn't finished stacking his chips from the previous hand, and just shoved them all in a mess of chips "Phil Hellmuth style!" The table folded around and Chua collected another pot.

Chua Doubles Through Drivsholm

It's another blow for Jeppe Drivsholm. He limped into the hand from under the gun before Charles Chua shoved all in from the small blind for 243,000. After Edward Sabat folded, Drivsholm found himself in the tank yet again. After about a minute, he made the call.

Drivsholm: {K-Clubs} {J-Spades}
Chua: {6-Clubs} {6-Spades}

Drivsholm was on the wrong side of a race, and stayed on the wrong side when the board ran out {4-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {q-Diamonds}. The queen on the river did send a murmur of excitement through the crowd, but it was not one of the face cards Drivsholm needed to send Chua to the rail.

Chua has a small section of supporters in one corner of the room, including Celina Lin and David Lee. Lee called out to Chua, "You want a drink?" and waved the pilfered bottle of whiskey.

Chua is now about to about 520,000 chips and Drivsholm is the short stack with 500,000.

Sabat On Fire!

Edward Sabat
Edward Sabat
Edward Sabat opened with a raise to 50,000 before Jeppe Drivsholm reraised an additional 125,000 chips. The action was back with Sabat and he declared that he was all in. Sabat had decided to put his big stack to work to put maximum pressure on his opponent and force him to a decision for his tournament life.

Drivsholm went into the tank for a long time before tossing his cards into the muck. Sabat flashed a {6-?} as he raked in yet another pot. Sabat is on fire!

Four in a Row for Sabat

Edward Sabat raised the button to 60,000 and was called by Jeppe Drivsholm out of the small blind. Both players quickly checked the {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} flop and the {4-Hearts} turn. On the river {7-Clubs}, Sabat made one of his signature small bets, for 35,000. Drivsholm called and then mucked his hand when Sabat showed {J-Clubs} {5-Spades} for two pair, sevens and fives.

Sabat Rivers Two Pair To Take Down Another Huge Pot

Diwei Huang opened with a raise to 60,000 and Edward Sabat made the call out of the small blind. Jeppe Drivsholm also called from the big blind and they saw a flop of {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Sabat and Drivsholm checked to Huang who made a continuation bet of 100,000. Sabat and Drivsholm both made the call as another big pot was developing.

The {6-Clubs} landed on the turn and the action checked around. The {8-Diamonds} fell on the river and Sabat led out with a small bet of 75,000. Drivsholm made the call and Huang folded.

Sabat showed {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for a rivered two pair as Drivsholm tossed his cards into the muck.
