Assadourian's Bumpy Ride

Eric Assadourian
Eric Assadourian
Moments after the dust settled in the Eric Assadourian v. Linas Leonovas hand, Assadourian found himself all in again -- this time against Mike Ivin.

Ivin opened the pot with a raise to 25,000 from early position and when the action reached Assadourian, he moved all in over the top for a total of 37,500. Ivin made the call with {A-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and found himself well behind Assadourian's pocket nines. Two more nines on the ensuing flop left Ivin drawing dead and Assadourian stacked up right around 90,000 in chips, giving himself a little extra breathing room.

Shortly after that hand, Ivin and Assadourian found themselves battling again, though this time, Ivin was the favorite. Assadourian had moved all in with {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Ivin looked him up with the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}. A ten in the door of the {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop threatened to end Assadourian's tournament life right then and there, but he was saved by the turn and river which brought the {K-Diamonds} and {Q-Diamonds}, giving both players Broadway straights for a chop.

At present, Assadourian is sitting on 90,000 in chips while Ivin has dropped to 418,000.
