Walker On The Up

Keith Walker has been the quiet achiever here at the final table, but has now taken the chip lead. He recently won a small hand with a preflop raise and then went on to win a three-bet pot on a {6-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Spades} flop. Sam Razavi was his competitor during the hand in question, with Razavi opening the pot from the cutoff before Walker three-bet out of the small blind. Walker checked on the flop and then raised to 500,000 when Razavi bet 250,000. Razavi got out of the way and Walker raked in the pot.

Wayne Bentley Eliminated in 4th Place ($87,575)

Wayne Bentley - 4th Place
Wayne Bentley - 4th Place

It took more than two hours to get here, but another player has finally been eliminated at the APPT Melbourne Main Event final table.

The end of Wayne Bentley's tournament began when the action folded to him in the small blind. He raised to 120,000 and Tom Grigg called out of the big blind.

Both players checked the {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and the dealer flipped over an {8-Clubs} on the turn. Bentley checked here and Grigg bet 130,000. Bentley fumbled with his stack and shoved them all into the middle and Grigg made the call for around 600,000.

Bentley was at risk and in need of some help holding {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} against Grigg's {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. When the dealer turned over a {4-Diamonds} on the river, it was all over for Bentley in 4th place. And then there were three.

Another One For Razavi

Sam Razavi raised under the gun to 100,000 and Tom Grigg called from the big blind. The flop came down {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Grigg check-called 150,000. On the turn the {10-Clubs} hit, and both players checked.

The river was the {4-Clubs} and Grigg checked again. Razavi bet 350,000 and Grigg went into the tank.

"I should've bet myself," Grigg said as he folded his cards. Razavi showed his {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} to show he wasn't messing around, and he took down another pot.

Bentley and Grigg Keep Clashing Heads

Tom Grigg and Wayne Bentley have easily been the duo who have played the most hands against each other here at the final table, and the continued recently as they partook in back-to-back hands.

The first hand saw Bentley open the cut-off seat to 110,000 and Grigg three-bet to 300,000 from the button. Bentley decided to let it go and Grigg raked in the chips.

The very next hand, Grigg opened the pot to 80,000 from under the gun and Bentley was the only caller. On the {8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, Wayne checked and then folded when Grigg bet 90,000.

Bentley Keeps Rolling

In two hands Wayne Bentley just managed to chip up nicely against Tom Grigg. On the first hand he raised to 115,000 from the small blind. Grigg was in the big blind and he made the call.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}, and Bentley checked. Grigg bet 130,000 after which Bentley moved all in right away. Grigg quickly folded.

On the second hand Grigg raised to 100,000 under the gun and Bentley called from the big blind. The flop came down {K-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, and Bentley checked. Grigg bet 115,000 and again Bentley pulled the trigger. He moved all in, and Grigg folded.

Razavi Calls Bentley Down

Wayne Bentley opened the button to 60,000 and Sam Razavi called in the big blind. The dealer spread out a {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop and Razavi opted to check-call a bet of 150,000. Razavi continued check-calling on the {a-Hearts} turn and the {8-Spades} river, with Bentley firing out 250,000 on the turn and 400,000 on the river. At showdown, Razavi immediately turned over {q-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Bentley shook his head as he mucked his cards.

Grigg Slips, Walker Takes The Lead

Tom Grigg raised from the cutoff to 60,000 after which Keith Walker showed agression by three-betting to 130,000 from the small blind. Grigg called and the flop came down {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

Walker put out a continuation bet of 165,000, and Grigg called. On the turn the {K-Diamonds} hit and Walker bet again. He threw out 125,000, and Grigg called again.

The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Walker didn't slow down. He bet 225,000 which got Grigg thinking. He went into the tank for a solid minute before finally announcing the call.

Walker showed {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and that was enough to take down the pot. Walker is now the chip leader while Grigg slips down to second place.
