Borg Bluffs Some Off
David Borg, who finished runner up in a $1,500 buy-in event at the World Series of Poker last year, is here in the building today, but unfortunately, he's off to a rough start.
We didn't catch the action until the river, but here's what we saw. There was about 5,500 in the middle, and the board had been completed . Borg was up against one opponent, and it was checked over to Borg, who fired out a bet of 2,600.
His opponent got the chips ready for the call, and Borg looked eager to table his cards. Not deterred by this, his opponent made the call, and Borg showed for a pair of nines. His opponent rolled over for top pair, and it was good enough to scoop up the pot.
After that hand, Borg is down to 13,500 from his original starting stack of 20,000.
