Baker's Dozen
Sydney, Australia's Derek Baker has emerged as the early chip leader here, picking up two big pots without showing down a hand.
He told PokerNews the first one came courtesy of a four-way pot where he floated a couple of bets before making a big check-raise on the river and forcing a fold.
The second came when he joined one caller of a 400-chip raise from the button and the blinds came along for the ride, going five ways to a flop. The original raiser c-bet , making it 650 and everyone called.
The turn brought the and when it checked to Baker, he made it 1,200. Only the big blind called. The river was the and after the big blind checked, Baker fired again, making it 4,300. The big blind folded and Baker dragged the pot, grabbing hold of the chip lead.
