Defending Champion Rivera Joins the Field

Last year's APPT National Manila champion Marc Rivera has joined this year's field. Last year he defeated a field of 829 entries to win ?4,559,000 ($85,940).
However, he also won a Platinum Pass to the PokerStars Players Championship where he finished third for over $2.1m.
Tournament officials announced on the microphone that he was in the field, and there was a polite smattering of applause for the defending champion.
