Van's experience is really starting to show on this final table. Since coming back from their dinner break, the players seem wary and are reluctant to see flops and put their chips at risk, resulting in players getting walks in their big blinds. Van has picked up on this and has adapted well, taking down pot after pot pre-flop, and has now just been paid off after flopping a huge hand and trapping Maor.
We caught up with Van before the final table today, check out the Video Gallery to see what he had to say.
Van Marcus raises UTG to 55,000 and Maor makes the call from the big blind.
The flop is and both players check.
Turn and again they check.
River
Maor leads out for 100,000 and Marcus moves all-in for an extra 313,000. Maor goes into the tank for almost five minutes, but when he finally announces call, Marcus stands from the table shouting "Yeah baby!" and slams on the table.
Maor instantly mucks and Marcus picks up a massive pot.
Van Marcus makes it 60,000 from the small blind but Nicholas Bamman comes over the top and moves all-in for 365,000. Unwilling to make the call, Marcus relinquishes his hand and Bamman picks up the pot.
