Obst KO'd by Field

Josh Field
Josh Field
We don't have details of the action, but in a battle of the online young guns, Josh Field has just eliminated James Obst from today's event.

Field now has a healthy stack in front of him to be amongst our chip leaders.

Prize Pool and Payouts

The prize pool for today's event has been confirmed.

We started with 42 entrants who purchased an additional 87 rebuys and add-ons to create a prize pool of AU$387,000.

The top seven players will receive a minimum of AU$15,480 while today's winner will take home a AU$123,840 plus the Aussie Millions gold ring, worth AU$5,000 thanks to Poker Allure.

Jedlicka Crushes Marcus

Niki Jedlicka
Niki Jedlicka
With a short-stacked player all in, Niki Jedlicka bet an additional 2,475 before Van Marcus popped it up another 4,000 on top. Jedlicka made the call and they saw a flop of {J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

Jedlicka moved all in and Marcus made the call.

Jedlicka: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Marcus: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {2-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and river the {2-Spades} and Jedlicka made the nut flush to eliminate the short stack and leave Marcus crippled.

Jedlicka is now up to a tournament-leading 37,000 chips as play is down to the final three tables.

Down to 30

We're down to 30 players in this event with notable recent casualties including Dan Shak and Ralph Burd.

Burd was eliminated at the hands of James "Andy McLEOD" Obst, who is amongst the chip leaders at 27,000 chips.

Bloom Busts

Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem
Tony Bloom has become one of the first casualties of the PLO with Rebuys event.

On a flop of {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} Chino Rheem checked and Bloom moved all in for his last 3,225. Rheem made the call and tabled {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for an open-ended straight draw as Bloom was leading with his {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} completing Rheem's straight as the {K-Hearts} fell on the river. Bloom is out and Rheem, who is off to a better start today after his early bust-outs in two previous Aussie Millions events, is up to 15,300 chips.

The rebuy period has recently concluded as players can now settle into a normal pace of play.

The leaders at this point are James "Andy McLOED" Obst with 17,300, Chris Ferguson at 15,500, and Julian Powell with 14,000.

Meanwhile the biggest losers during the rebuy period appear to have been Josh Field and Warwick Mirzikinian, who were reportedly in for six rebuys/add-ons each, with Chino Rheem, Niki Jedlicka, Julian Powell and Jimmy Siu in for about four rebuys/add-ons apiece. We've received an unofficial figure of 87 total rebuys and add-ons, but we'll confirm that for you once the prize pool is released.
