Whybrew Stays Alive

Wesley Whybrew
Wesley Whybrew
With about 16,000 in the pot preflop Mitchell Carle checked the flop of {7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} over to Wesley Whybrew who led for 3,000. Carle then raised to 10,000 total which was immediately followed by Whybrew moving all in for around 53,000.

Carle sat there toying with a call or a fold, and as his time bank counted down he eventually made the fold and clicked the show button on his PokerPro personal touch screen.

Carle's cards of {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} were tabled for all to see, while Whybrew followed suit showing his. To the agony of Carle, Whybrew's cards were {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} therefore meaning Carle missed out on taking the 75,000 chips that Whybrew now possessed.

Carle Carves Up Swalling

Mitchell Carle
Mitchell Carle
In two consecutive hands Steven Swalling has gone from one of the chip leaders to a railbird.

The first hand saw Carle holding {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} against Swalling's {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} on a board of {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} to see Carle jump up to 62,400 while Swalling slipped back to 49,800 in chips.

The second hand saw Swalling move all in with the board reading {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. Carle made the call tabling {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} while Swalling was looking at the potential end of his tournament life holding {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. The river fell the {A-Diamonds} sending Swalling to the rail and Carle up to 114,000 in chips.

Jaspers Doubles To Chip Lead

Cheryl Paton opened to 3,200 and was met with a reraise from Joris Jaspers to 12,300 out of the small blind. Paton made the call and both players checked the flop of {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}.

The turn landed the {7-Hearts} and Paton moved all in and Jaspers immediately made the call with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} leaving Paton drawing dead holding {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The meaningless {3-Diamonds} fell on the river as Paton was left with a touch over 17,000 while Jaspers moved up to over 114,000 in chips.

CRUSHER Crushed Out

Ben Delaney
Ben Delaney
Ben "CNT_CRUSHER" Delaney has just been eliminated from the tournament after running a nine-high bluff into a flopped pair.

Delaney was unable to repeat his performance following his 29th place finish in today's Event 1: $1,100 No Limit Hold'em Opening Event.

Delaney is now off to rest up for the online major's tomorrow and continue his recent soar up the online poker rankings where he has just snuck into Australia's top ten.
