"Nothing Good Ever Happens To Me" - Jim Sachinidis

"Nothing Good Ever Happens To Me," said Jim Sachinidis.

The last of Sachinidis' chips had gone into the pot preflop, with the Crown regular holding {A-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. He would have a handy lead on Jan Suchanek's {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, until the {2-Spades} appeared in the door prompting Sachinidis to lament his luck.

He need not have feared the next card on the flop was the {k-Spades} to re-establish his strangle hold on the hand. The flop was completed by the {10-Clubs}. The turn was the {8-Spades} and the river {5-Clubs} meaning that he would double through.

Sachinidis has 28,000.

Morris Making His Mark

Chipleader Simon Morris is continuing his upward trend adding to his chip lead against Jan Suchanek.

The top two in chips clashed in a recent pot, with Morris opening the button to 8,000 and Suchanek three-betting from the small blind. (A common practice so far today)

Both players checked the {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop and Morris came out firing on the {j-Clubs} turn. Suchanek made the check call on the turn, and check called again on the river {3-Clubs}.

Morris showed down{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} for two pair, prompting Suchanek to pitch his hand into the muck.

Kerry Stead managed to advance up the pay-outs two levels after entering the final table with the shortest stack.

His run came to an end after taking a flop with Steve Krmpotic. Krmpotic led the betting on the {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop and Stead bet back over the top for the rest of his chips. Krmpotic called with {A-Hearts}{j-Spades} to have Stead's {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts} out-kicked.

The {8-Diamonds} turn and {10-Hearts} river were both bricks for Stead to send him out in seventh place.

Sticky Steicke

David Steicke is proving to be a tough customer here on the final table as his fight back continues.

The pot was opened preflop by the very active Steve Krmpotic, and Steicke three-bet from the button. Krmpotic called and they saw a {j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop.

Krmpotic fired out 3,000 on the flop and Steicke flat called. The turn was the {10-Spades} and Krmpotic tried again betting 6,000, Steicke raised this time and Krmpotic got out of the way pretty quickly.

Steicke showed {A-Spades}{j-Hearts} as a courtesy, as he added to his 75,000 chip stack.

Josh Wilson Eliminated in 8th Place ($3,600 AUD)

Preflop, Steve Krmpotic opened from the button, and Josh Wilson three-bet from the small blind. Krmpotic opted to take the flop, which came {6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Wilson check called a flop bet from Krmpotic and they moved to the turn {9-Hearts}. Again Wilson checked, and again Krmpotic bet out. This time Wilson called for his stack and the players showed down their cards.

Wilson: {k-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Krmpotic: {A-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The {3-Diamonds} hit the river, sending Wilson out and moving Krmpotic back to 30,000.

Morris Rollin' with the River

Preflop three players limped up and the big blind checked the option to take a {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop.

On the flop the blinds checked to Amit Sheth who decided to end the friendly pot, and make a bet. This was raised to 6,000 by Simon Morris and the small blind Steve Krmpotic opted to make the call. The big blind folded, but Sheth made the call.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and the three players checked it around to the river {7-Clubs}.

Krmpotic and Sheth checked to Morris who bet out 6,000. Krmpotic called and Sheth folded.

Morris turned over {7-Spades}{10-Spades} for rivered trips, which would take the pot from Krmpotic's {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

Steicke Strikes Lucky

David Steicke struck a bit of fortune in a recent hand.

Preflop, Josh Wilson opened the button to 6,000, with David Steicke three-betting from the small blind. Wilson made the call and the flop came {7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Steicke led 3,000 and Wilson flat called. The turn was the {8-Clubs} and again Wilson flat called a 6,000 lead from Steicke.

On the river {6-Diamonds} things got interesting. Steicke checked, and Wilson bet out 6,000. Thinking that Steicke had already called the bet Wilson turned over his {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. It was then revealed that Steicke was still in the tank considering the call.

With the added information Steicke made the call, turning over just {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} for ace high. Enough to beat Wilson out of the pot.

Ciaran Carter Eliminated in 9th Place ($2,250 AUD)

Ciaran Carter eliminated in 9th Place
Ciaran Carter eliminated in 9th Place
Ciaran Carter has been eliminated by Amit Sheth.

Carter had the second shortest stack at the final table and was going to need to run good in the early going to make a deep run on the final table.

In his elimination hand he opened from the button with Sheth raising from the big blind. Carter called and they took an {2c] flop.

Carter three-bet all in on the flop, tabling to trail Sheth's . The turn and river failed to improve the all in player, so he becomes the first player eliminated from the final table.

He won't go home empty handed though, he'll earn $2,250 AUD for his efforts.
