Bloom Makes Straight Flush, Still Only Gets Half

Omaha Hi-Lo

With the flop reading {3-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {7-Spades} Craig Elfenbein bet out and Tony Bloom raised, Elfenbein calling.

The river was the {2-Spades} and Elfenbein check-called another bet flipping over {A-Spades} {A-Clubs} {3-Spades} {10-Clubs} for the nut flush with a strong looking 6-4-3-2-A, playing his live ace.

Bloom though turned over {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} {5-Clubs} {2-Clubs} for the flopped straight flush, but could only make a 6-5-4-3-2 for the low, hence both players took back their bets.

Ryan Zdunick Becomes First Elimination

Hold'em

Ryan Zdunick has blown through the chips this afternoon and put the last of his stack in against Peter Morduant.

On a flop of {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} Zdunick bet out and Morduant check-called. They repeated this process on the turn {7-Clubs} and river {a-Spades}.

Morduant flipped his {A-Clubs}{k-Clubs} hand over as soon as he had called on the river, prompting Zdunick to respond with, "I needed an eight on the river", before pitching his cards into the muck and making his departure from the tournament area.

5-Way Pot Craziness

Stud-8

Hordaunt: [X X] {J-Spades} {5-Spades} {6-Hearts} {3-Hearts} [X]
Tran: [X X] {K-Spades} {4-Spades} {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} [X]
Stead: [X X] {3-Clubs} {8-Spades} {6-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} [X]
Opponent 1: [X X] {J-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} [X]
Opponent 2: [X X] {3-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} [X]

Tran raised it up with his king before Peter Hordaunt reraised. Kerry Stead, Tran and two other opponents both called.

On 4th Hordaunt fired again after it was checked to him with the other four calling. Everyone checked fifth, but then on 5th the first of the two unknown opponents, having caught the {10-Diamonds} fired out with everyone calling once more.

On 7th, Kerry Stead bet out with the second of the two unknown opponents calling. Hordaunt also called, while Tran and the other unknown both folded.

Stead showed X {7-?} {2-?} for a 7-6-4-3-2 low while Hordaunt took the high with {K-?} {K-?} {5-?} for Kings up.

Phew!

Not A Winner

Stud-8

Mountt: {X X} {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} {X}
Opponent: {X X} {2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades} {X}

Mountt bet down the last two streets with the opponent calling. The opponent thinking had the low for a split turned over {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for his hole cards.

"You need to have five cards below eight," Danny Mountt was quick to point out. The opponent pounded his fist on the table, as Mountt took the scoop.

Greco Enjoying Life

We've just ran into Michael Greco who laughingly joked, "I don't have a clue what I'm doing."

He's above his starting stack though, so he must be doing something right.

Portaro Takes A Large A-Mountt of Danny's Chips.

Stud

A three-way pot between Bruno Portaro, Danny Mountt and a third player.

Portaro: X X {8-Hearts} {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts} X
Mountt: X X {3-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} X
Third Player: X X {8-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {A-Spades} {4-Clubs}

The unnamed player had opened with Mountt and Portaro both calling. Portaro lead out on 4th and got called in both spots. On 5th the action was checked to Mountt by the other two and he bet this time.

When Portaro made an open pair of fives on 6th, he checked, Mountt fired again and the third player mucked. Portaro made the call and then bet out on 7th with Mountt making the call.

Portaro flipped X {K-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} for a full house while a clearly livid Mountt showed {A-Clubs} {5-Spades} for a wheel he'd made on 5th, disgusted at being runner-runnered.

Eric Is Not Idle

Stud

Facing his opponent, Eric Assadourian had a fairly unspectacular looking board of {10-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {6-Clubs} when facing his opponent's much stronger {J-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts}.

Nevertheless, Assadourian raised a bet on 6th before firing again on 7th. He was called both times and flipped {6-?} {3-?} {8-?} for a boat, his opponent flashing the {J-Hearts} before mucking.

Late Comers

Michael Guzzardi, Karib Karib, Gary Benson, Tony Bloom, and "Carwash" George Cotaidis are among the late arrivals.

No Croc sightings yet.
