Check-raising Hachem

Just a few minutes after his last victory, Joe Hachem was in the big blind and called a raise from the player in the small blind who made it 175 to go.

The two players saw a flop of {A-Spades}

and the small blind bet 225. Hachem raised to 800. The small blind checked to see how much Hachem had left in his stack and then made the call.

The turn card was the {2-Diamonds}

and the small blind checked. Hachem fired 1,500. The small blind then check-raised enough to put Hachem at risk for his last 950 chips, but Hachem instantly folded. He pulled out a rebuy chip and tossed it on the table to add some chips to his stack.
