Defining Moment
/ marked by numerous ups and downs <an entertainer's roller–coaster career> /
So it's very safe to say that the last thirty minutes have been very roller-coasterish for Sorel Mizzi, who's just given a good portion of what he just won from Kosta Varoxis right back to him.
Varoxis open-shoved all in from under-the-gun for his last 550,000 and Mizzi moved all in over the top in an effort to isolate Varoxis. Both blinds folded and a showdown ensued:
Mizzi:
Varoxis:
The flop was a great one for Varoxis, as it gave him an open-ended straight draw. The turn -- -- was even better, as it gave him the outright lead in the hand. The river blanked an inconsequential and Varoxis doubled up to 1.25 million in chips.
Mizzi was left with 1.65 million after the hand.
