Montgomery Leads

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We have a new chip leader!

Folded to Scott Montgomery in late position, he made it 26,000. With play now on John Overbeek on the button he popped it to 56,000. Montgomery tanked.

"How much do you have?"

His opponent had 250,000 behind. Montgomery moved allin. Overbeek called.

Overbeek: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Montgomery: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} and we said hello to a new chip leader, Montgomery now with 750,000.

Pauchon Builds Back

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The rollercoaster ride for Yann Pauchon began three hands ago. It all started when Pauchon had a player at risk, Pauchon holding {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} on the cut-off against Steven Jones, holding {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} on the button. Pauchon had his opponent covered by around 30,000. The board ran out {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. A devastating king on the turn, leaving Pauchon crippled.

The next hand Pauchon managed to double-up, with {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} holding up against the {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} of Scott Montgomery. Pauchon then had 70,000.

A few hands later and Pauchon was all-in against Justin Cohen. Cohen held {a-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Pauchon {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The {q-Diamonds} on the flop enough for Pauchon who now has a much healthier 170,000.

Harris Home

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Milan Gurung
Milan Gurung

Folded to Troy Harris in the small blind, Harris min-raised to 20,000. Milan Gurung then moved all-i from the big blind and Harris made the call, putting his tournament life at risk.

Harris: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Milan: {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Give me an R! Give me an A! Give me a C!.. You get the point.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, Milan catching good and sending Harris home.

Montgomery Moving

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante

Scott Montgomery has just kept his Aussie Millions gold ring hopes alive, catching good when all-in preflop against Toan Nguyen. Montgomery held {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, having to wait until the river to hit the {j-Hearts}.

With the aforementioned sweat over, Montgomery sat behind a 175,000 stack but quickly moved it into the middle just a few hands later, this time against Tolly Sakellariou. Montgomery held a dominated {5-}{5-}, against Sakellariou's {q-}{q-}.

It would be all but over for Montgomery, lest a five come.

The turn card secured the pot for Montgomery, trumping Sakellariou's queens. Montgomery moves to 340,000.

Putt Ponders Demise

Level 16 : 4,000/8,000, 500 ante
Graeme Putt on day 1c
Graeme Putt on day 1c

Our PokerNews Reporter arrived at Graeme "KiwiG" Putt's table just in time to see a bust out!

The flop read {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the action was checked to Putt. Putt made it 25,000 to see a turn and his opponent, chip leader Isaac Lau, made the call.

With the turn came the {7-Hearts} and the action checked to Putt again, who decided to move all-in. Lau snap called and turned over {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Putt's {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} would need help that would never come.
