Spilkin Says Goodbye, Edmonds Eliminated

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mike Spilkin and Brendan Edmonds have been the latest players to have hit the rail, leaving just 32 players in this year's Aussie Millions $2,200 No Limit Hold'em Six Handed event.

Earlier, our reporter caught the action between Spilkin, Billy Argyros and Jim Sachinidis on a flop that read {5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}; Arygros checked from the small blind and Spilkin opened for 4,000. Sachindis called and Argyros folded, leaving it heads-up to the turn of the {7-Hearts}.

Spilkin quickly check-called Sachinidis' bet of 6,000 and then both players checked the river of the {10-Diamonds}. Sachinidis showed down {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Spilkin threw his hand into the muck. Left with just 8,500 in chips, Spilkin was eliminated a short time later.

At around the same time, the action on table 30 folded to Japan's Waki Waki (perhaps the most awesome name ever), who raised to 3,800 from the hijack position. Edmonds reraised to 9,900 from the small blind and Waki tank-called before Edmonds fired out 11,500 on the flop of {4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

"I raise," said Waki, before declaring that he was all-in. Waki then quickly jumped up on his seat and started anxiously walking around and blinking rapidly (it seemed Waki had something caught in his eye). Edmond and the other players at his table laughed nervously.

"Jeez, I don't know how to read this," said Edmonds before making the call, showing down {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Waki tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and straightened up. "One time," he said between deep breaths.

The turn of the {3-Hearts} was the right color, but the wrong suit. The river {2-Diamonds} was just what Waki ordered, but his celebrations were rather comical. Waki jumped up in the air, pumped his fists, turned and ran towards the wall and started beating it excitedly! Waki then ran back to the table and cried "Ship it!" as the chips were pushed in his direction.

Waki is now on 146,000 in chips while Edmonds' seat remains empty.
