Haibo Chu: you know who I'm talking about, Willis!
Haibo Chu: you know who I'm talking about, Willis!

That'll be all she wrote, sports fans ... well, not quite. As is tradition with PokerNews Live Reporting anywhere in the world, it's that time of the night where we recap everything that's happened today.

151 of the best and brightest Pot Limit Omaha players from Australia and around the world ponied up $1,100 of the Australian variety to take part in today's Aussie Millions championship event. From the get go, we were caught off-guard by what played out, particularly with the elimination of defending champion and Norwegian online ice queen Annette Obrestad, who many thought would have another deep run in this event but incredibly, was the first to hit the rail.

It was also a quick day for many other notable players, including Aussies Grant Levy, Sammy Khouiss, Raj Ramakrishnan, Billy "The Croc" Arygros, Jackie Glazier and defending Aussie Millions champion Tyron Krost, as well as international superstars James Akenhead, Richard Ashby, Barny Boatman, Jarred Solomon and Graeme "Kiwi G" Putt.

However, the same can't be said for the six players who made the money today, but more importantly, the nine players who will be returning tomorrow to contest the final table! The man leading them all is none other than Melbourne's own Haibo Chu, who already has scored a major title here at Crown Casino when he won the Melbourne Poker Championships here in 2007.

Chu played a solid game all day, but he'll still have to be on his toes if he's going to take it to such solid competitors such as 2010 Adelaide Poker Championship Main Event winner Sean Dunwoodie, Australian Poker Hall of Famer Mel Judah and Michael "Sticky" Guttman, whom Judah already shares an Aussie Millions title with (they won the Teams Event here last year).

We also can't underestimate Antoine Bechara, who has already final-tabled the Opening Event and will be looking to go one better, plus there's still plenty of life left in Harry Demetriou, Aaron Kivelio and Joel Gaffney. And with PLO, anything goes!

Be sure to join us here at PokerNews from 4pm AEDT tomorrow when we bring you all the action of the 2011 Aussie Millions $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha final table. Until then, it's ciao for now!
