Richard Ashby complete to 4,000 only to have Bruno Portaro make it 8,000 straight. The bring-in player folded as Ashby made the call before Portaro fired out bets on fourth, fifth and sixth street with each player's board reading as follows.

On seventh street, the dealer dealt both player's cards face up to reveal Ashby's {J-Clubs} and Portaro's {K-Diamonds} .

Calling the Tournament Director over to resolve the issue, both players opted to disregard the verdict as they checked it through.
